Candy Combs Skelton is currently the Certification Testing Coordinator for Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi (TAMUCC) and teaches early childhood classes as an adjunct at TAMUCC. She was raised in Norfolk, Virginia, but moved to Texas in 1972. Her teaching career began in 1975 as a paraprofessional in physical education. She taught in the South Texas public school system and in 1980 joined the Early Childhood Department at Del Mar College. She has taught at TAMUCC since 1984. She is happily married and has two daughters.
